Mon. 5/14/12: 1
Peter 3:18 (NKJV) Why did Christ suffer for
sin?
For
Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might
bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,
Why did Christ
suffer for sin? Christ suffered ONCE for sin; the perfect one for us sinners.
Tue. 5/15/12: 1
Peter 4:1-2 (NKJV) Does Christ’s suffering
affect us believers?
Therefore,
since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same
mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no
longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but
for the will of God.
Does Christ’s suffering affect us believers? If He suffered to
do God’s will, our attitude should be the same: let human desires be superseded
by God’s will.
Wed. 5/16/12: 1
Peter 4:10-11 (NKJV) Should a believer use his
gift?
As
each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of
the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of
God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies,
that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong
the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Should a believer use his gift? Use God’s gift as a good steward
to glorify God through Jesus Christ.
Thu. 5/17/12: 1
Peter 4:12-13 (NKJV) Why share Christ’s
sufferings?
Beloved,
do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as
though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you
partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also
be glad with exceeding joy.
Why share Christ’s sufferings? When Christ returns to reward,
you will be overjoyed.
Fri. 5/18/12: 1
Peter 5:10-11 (NKJV) Who has called you to
Himself?
But may
the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after
you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To
Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Who has called you to
Himself? God has called you to His eternal glory and will be your strength.
