Mo. 12/3/12:
Genesis 24:33,
48 What was important
to the servant?
Food
was set before him to eat, but he said, “I will not eat
until I have told about my errand.” And (Laban, Rebekah’s brother) said, “Speak on.”
And
I bowed my head and worshiped the Lord, and blessed the Lord God of my master
Abraham, who had led me in the way of truth to take the daughter of my master’s
brother for his son.
What was important to the servant? The servant’s
mission given by the master was more important than food. He walked in the way
of truth.
Tu. 12/4/12:
Genesis 24:57
– 58, 61 What choice did
Rebekah make?
So
they said, “We will call the young woman and ask her personally.” Then
they called Rebekah and said to her, “Will you go with this man?”
And
she said, “I will go.” Then Rebekah and her maids arose, and they rode
on the camels and followed the man. So the servant took Rebekah and departed.
What choice did Rebekah make? Rebekah said ‘yes.’ Her maids did not fetch water for the camels; she did.
We. 12/5/12:
Genesis 24:64
– 66 What did Rebekah
show?
Then
Rebekah lifted her eyes, and when she saw Isaac she dismounted from her camel;
for she had said to the servant, “Who is this man walking in the field
to meet us?”
The
servant said, “It is my master.” So she took a veil and covered herself. And
the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done.
What did Rebekah show? Rebekah showed respect
and reverence.
Th. 12/6/12:
Ephesians 1:12
– 13 How can we emulate
Rebekah?
…
that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. In
Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit
of promise
How can we emulate Rebekah? We have to hear
and believe.
Fr. 12/7/12:
Revelation
22:17 Who calls the
thirsty?
And
the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And
let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life
freely.
Who calls the thirsty? The Spirit and the bride,
both pictured in Genesis.
