Mo. 6/3/13: Lev. 10:8 – 9 What were priests not
allowed?
Then
the Lord spoke to Aaron, saying: “Do not drink wine or
intoxicating drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the
tabernacle of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever
throughout your generations…
What were priests not
allowed? Wine was not allowed.
Tu. 6/4/13: Lev. 10:10 – 11 Why this restriction?
…
that you may distinguish between holy and unholy, and between unclean and
clean, and that you may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the
Lord has spoken to them by the
hand of Moses.”
Why this restriction?
Priests had to discern between holy and unholy.
We. 6/5/13: Lev. 22:32 – 33 What is antonym to holy?
You
shall not profane My holy name, but I will be hallowed among the children of
Israel. I am the Lord who
sanctifies you, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am
the Lord.”
What is antonym to holy?
Profane.
Th. 6/6/13: Ezekiel 39:7 What is profanity?
So I
will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let
them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am
the Lord, the Holy One in
Israel.
What is profanity? Taking
the Lord’s name in vain
Fr. 6/7/13: 2 Tim. 2:15 – 16 What is to be shunned?
Be
diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle
babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.
What is to be shunned? Profane talk.
