Mo. 7/21/14: Joel
2:1 Why was an alarm sounded?
Blow
the trumpet in Zion,
And
sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let
all the inhabitants of the land tremble;
For
the day of the LORD is coming,
For
it is at hand:
Why was an alarm sounded? The day of the LORD is coming.
Tu. 7/22/14: Joel 2:10b – 11 What happens on that day?
The
sun and moon grow dark,
And
the stars diminish their brightness.
The
LORD gives voice before His army,
For
His camp is very great;
For
strong is the One who executes His word.
For
the day of the LORD is great and
very terrible;
Who
can endure it?
What happens on that day? The sun and moon shall be darkened.
We. 7/23/14: Joel
2:31 – 32a Who shall be saved?
The
sun shall be turned into darkness,
And
the moon into blood,
Before
the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.
And
it shall come to pass
That
whoever calls on the name of the LORD
Shall
be saved.
Who shall be saved? Whoever calls on Yahweh shall be saved.
Th. 7/24/14: Joel
3:14b – 16a Who shall be heard?
For
the day of the LORD is near in
the valley of decision.
The
sun and moon will grow dark,
And
the stars will diminish their brightness.
The
LORD also will roar from Zion,
And
utter His voice from Jerusalem;
The
heavens and earth will shake
Who shall be heard? The LORD shall roar and be heard.
Fr. 7/25/14: 1 Thessalonians
5:1-3 How does the day come?
But
concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should
write to you.
For
you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the LORD
so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then
sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And
they shall not escape.
How does the day come?
The day shall come as a thief in the night.
