Mo. 10/21/13: Exodus 3:2, 4 – 5                  What did God tell Moses to do?

And the Angel of the Lord appeared to (Moses) in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”

Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”

What did God tell Moses to do? Moses was instructed to remove his sandals.

Tu. 10/22/13: Joshua 5:13 – 15                  What did God tell Joshua to do?

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”

So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”

Then the Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.

What did God tell Joshua to do? Joshua was instructed to remove his sandals.

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

What did Jesus Christ tell Thomas? Knowing Christ is knowing the Father.

Th. 10/24/13: John 14:8 – 9                  What did Jesus Christ tell Philip?

Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”

Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father?’”

What did Jesus Christ tell Philip? Seeing Christ is seeing the Father.

Fr. 10/25/13: Revelation 1:17 – 18                  What did Jesus Christ tell John?

And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”

What did Jesus Christ tell John? Christ Jesus has the keys to Death and hell.

The Rock, Part 2.

Mo. 10/14/13: Psalm 18:46                  What is the sure foundation?

      The Lord lives!

      Blessed be my Rock!

      Let the God of my salvation be exalted.

What is the sure foundation? The living Lord is our only sure foundation.

Tu. 10/15/13: Psalm 28:1                  Who hears the heart’s cry?

      To You I will cry, O Lord my Rock:

      Do not be silent to me,

      Lest, if You are silent to me,

      I become like those who go down to the pit.

Who hears the heart’s cry? The Lord, our Rock hears our heart’s cry.

We. 10/16/13: Daniel 2:34 – 35                  Who was cut without hands?

You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

Who was cut without hands? God separated His son to bear our sin.

Th. 10/17/13: Daniel 2:45                  What will the stone do?

Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold—the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure.”

What will the stone do? The stone, Jesus Christ will break human kingdoms

Fr. 10/18/13: Daniel 2:46 – 47                  Who reveals secrets?

Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, prostrate before Daniel, and commanded that they should present an offering and incense to him. The king answered Daniel, and said, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.”

Who reveals secrets? Only the God of heaven reveals prophetic secrets.

The Rock, part 1

Mo. 10/7/13: Exodus 33:18, 21 – 23                  What did Moses see?

And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”

And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.”

What did Moses see? Moses saw the rock cleft for him and the protecting hand of God! This is the glory of the Lord.

Tu. 10/8/13: Deuteronomy 32:3 – 4                  What song did Moses teach?

      For I proclaim the name of the Lord:

      Ascribe greatness to our God.

      He is the Rock, His work is perfect;

      For all His ways are justice,

      A God of truth and without injustice;

      Righteous and upright is He.

What song did Moses teach? Moses received the song from God and taught it to Israel. God is the Rock of Truth and Justice

We. 10/9/13: Deuteronomy 32:15b                  What would Israel do?

      Then (Israel) forsook God who made him,

      And scornfully esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

What would Israel do? Israel would scorn the Rock of their salvation.

Th. 10/10/13: Deuteronomy 32:16 – 18                  What did the Rock do?

      They provoked Him to jealousy with foreign gods;

      With abominations they provoked Him to anger.

      They sacrificed to demons, not to God,

      To gods they did not know,

      To new gods, new arrivals

      That your fathers did not fear.

      Of the Rock who begot you, you are unmindful,

      And have forgotten the God who fathered you.

What did the Rock do? God, the Rock, begot them: he fathered them.

Fr. 10/11/13: Deuteronomy 32:30 – 31                  What would happen?

      How could one chase a thousand,

      And two put ten thousand to flight,

      Unless their Rock had sold them,

      And the Lord had surrendered them?

      For their rock is not like our Rock,

      Even our enemies themselves being judges.

What would happen? Israel would flee their enemy: God deserted them.
