Profit & Loss

The Holy Bible, King James Version: Profit & Loss

1 Samuel 12:21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

Ecclesiastes 5:16 And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?

Do we go after monetary gain and loose our life's time?

Does it bother you that many hours are spent purchasing that which is consumed easily? What do you have at week's end? Just meet bills?

Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

James 4:13-14 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Have you ever daydreamed of winning some lottery? Most winners don't even come out of debt!

God's will is best for your life.

1 Corinthians 3:15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Th. 3/27/08

The context of this verse is laying the foundation of belief that Jesus Christ died for your sins. Worst case scenario: if nothing else lasts, your foundation is still etenally secure.

Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Philippians 3:7-8 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Winning is living a Christ filled life. This makes even physical death a matter of eternal bliss.
